New Embroidery Pieces
I thought I might be adding this label to the back of my Hoffman quilt today but I am wrong on that one! It looks like another 2 or 3 more days of handquilting before I can call it done. Sigh. I so underestimate the time it takes to do handwork.
Opening the etsy shop has brought a whole different bevy of embroidery requests than what I thought might come my way. Here are 2 of 5 patches I did for a custom order. Since I raised boys we didn't have much Hello Kitty or Rainbow Bright stuff around our house. It was kind of a walk down memory lane watching these stitch out.
Beena made a lovely purse for me (or my shop-if I can part with it) with one of my embroideries. I wanted to thank her with these pretty shell embroideries. These are new designs (I bought-I wish I could say I digitized them!). I did quilt label with my digitizing software and it was very quick and slick. The outer stitched border resembles baby rickrack. Look for more of that in the future!

Those shells are beautiful! I'm not so much of a fan of the hello kitty! LOL!
Rainbow Brite?? That takes me back! I love it.
The shells came out gorgeous!
I'll make you another handbag for yourself, if you want!!! And I'd be delighted to do it, Debra! It's easier than writing the instructions for it which I can't seem to ever get around to finishing!( I feel like such a slacker!) It's such an easy bag to make, though.
Suddenly I am wondering if you also get requests for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and other really scary stuff that should stay in the past.
What happened with the victorian costumes job? Post pics if you can!
Great swap on the purse for the embroidery pieces.
I still have trouble when I see older girls and their Hello Kitty Gear. I can remember buying that stuff when I was a kid and an entire store devoted to it. Now it is so mainstream!
