It ain't gonna happen, ladies!

The Sampler CQ is going under the scissors for a revamp.

Holy Matrimony, Batman! Did I ever learn a bunch about machine embroidery, crazy quilting and design solutions with this one.

I think I am on Plan M by now. I have tried so many options but I think the bottom line is that all the little prints were fighting with the embroidery. Some part had to be dominate and the prints were winning. No amount of "punching up" the embroideries was making any difference; so, the prints are getting cut out for a calmer, serene interior that showcases the samplers better.

I'll be back with the new look soon!

Both parts were great, but I agree that together they weren't cooperating! I've never managed to make many prints work in my CQ blocks - just one here and there.

I opened your post today expecting the "TA DAAA" of a finished quilt (knowing that you had four days of work behind you and you have been awfully quiet....) That's when the title of today's post made me laugh out loud -- it was a real gotcha. Sorry for the struggle but I do know it lands you in a better place having gone through it. I'm looking forward to revision N.

Unfortunately trial and error and useful parts of the process. I hope Plan M is the right one.

I loved those flower embroideries on the plain backgrounds that were to be appliqued on. I am so sorry to see them go.
But you and you alone know what your vision is. Glad you're learning so much....that is always the bottom line.

Back to the drawing board is always frustrating, but looking at the more recent posts, I can see the results are going to be worth it.
