Brilliante Weblog Premio 2008 Award

Here's a very thoughtful award that was given to my blog yesterday by Violette from HandQuilting blog. The Brilliante Weblog Premio 2008 Award is for the work I have done to organize and maintain the Quilt Studio and the Take It Further Challenge webrings. It's always nice to have that part of my blog work acknowledged so I thank Violette for giving me the award!

Part of the fun of these blogging awards is passing the honor onto other bloggers. Violette has the rules outlined on her blog. My picks and the reasons are thus:
  • Lisa Quilts---------Lisa's blog is always a bittersweet journey back to my past when 2 young curious boys roamed my life. She has a wonderful adventure unfolding as she and her husband clear land to build a new house. She also recently closed her quilting business and her emotional parting was very, um, emotional. Lisa's blog rarely fails to bring a tear or two to my eye & a bit of envy for her exquisite knitted sweaters.
  • Living Life at LeeHaven----------Karen Dianne's blog is also another blog that draws me into the complexities of her life. While struggling with MS, Karen manages herself, her household, her disease and makes accurately pieced and breath-taking quilts. She shows daily that rising up in the face of the Unknown is what Women do Best. Everyday I stop by to see what new development has appeared on her blog. She truly is an inspiration in her dedication to living Life fully.
  • Plays with Needles-----------there's always "a whole lot of blogging going on" over at Susan's blog. She fills every post with vibrant pictures of her projects, her hobbies, her passions and her darling nieces. To someone who has been living in testosterone land her whole life, it feels like a guilty pleasure to go over and sit with teacups and fondle pretty, lacy little sewing items with Susan.
  • Field Trips in Fiber------------Vicki is the Eveready Bunny of Quiltland. That gal can get more done in a space of five minutes than most can get done all month. It's always a marathon of quilting, dyeing, stash busting, buying and doing at Vicki's blog. She's now added a new feature called Field Tripping the Web that points readers in interesting directions. Vicki is another woman who rises above her health. Faced with severe allergies she still makes quilts, gives generously to those around her and gives generously to those from blogland.
  • Toad Haven Annex-------------Fran fills her blog pages with beautiful scenic pictures of her life in Colorado, her reminisces about family members and her love of God and quilting. In my mind Fran is the true Pioneer Woman living out there on the prairie. Always a fine read.

A few blogs that I feel a little guilty nominating because they are, after all, my buds and I would read them even if they only printed dribble. Rian's Pages , Textiles in Time, and Thinking Out Loud along with Allie's in Stitches (which has already been nominated).

If you would like to nominate your favorite bloggers and their blogs for this award, stop by Violette's blog for the specific directions. In the meantime, I am committed to curtailing my computer time to make room for more exercising time & have severely limited my blog reading. There are lots of wonderful blogs that lead to more wonderful blogs and ideas so enough to keep everyone happy and full of inspirations. Kudos to all that connect with me and others through blogging! You Make My Day!

(My Upon a Dream will be done tonight. Pictures tomorrow!)

  2. Well shucks, and I was coming over to see what designs we're working on today. Now I'm blushing with appreciation for your kind, supportive words.

I love seeing what Blogs you stop at. I hit one already. ;> But yes, I should be off the computer and sewing rows.

  3. Unlike Karen, I was coming over to check out your walktracker and noticed that big dip...what happened...I'm sure it was a broken ankle or a Hoffman Challenge deadline or a good book you've got your ears into... *smile* Hey, and then, you nominated me!! Aren't you SWEET...and those nice things you said, shucks is right..Okay, I take back what I said about the dip...it makes the chart look prettier...

  7. Congrats, Debra... and thanks for the honor, it's great being your bud! ;0) I'm afraid most of my posts lately have been dribbling quite badly but I hope to improve that soon!

  8. Debra, I see why you got this honor. Getting this award from you is such a great honor; and it couldn't come at a time when I needed it more, since I've felt like I haven't been keeping up my end for a while. Check out my newest posting for details
